I am a former client of Chemical Data. I met Charlie when the firm was only two consultants and the petrochemicals that I had interest in were handled by Charlie. Our interactions continued until I retired last February. What a knowledgeable guy. He taught me a lot about the relationships amongst the numerous petrochemicals. He was always welcoming to meet face to face or have dinner. I do remember one thing about dinners; don’t let Charlie order the wine! I am pretty sure that the only expense report I have ever had to spend so much time justifying to my boss was a dinner here in Houston with Charlie! The petrochemical industry has lost a remarkable individual; his company a wealth of knowledge, and me, I think Charlie would permit me to call myself a friend. My heart and prayers go out to his family as they grieve their loss.

Years ago Charlie and a few others were talking about going out somewhere and one gentleman said ok we’ll take my Benz, Charlie smiled and said nonsense we’ll take The Roll’s and a few minutes later Charlie chuckled and whispered, childs play, I laughed so much, he was quite a character and just the nicest man!  He will be missed by all who knew him! 

Charlie was my boss, mentor, friend and family for 35 years.  His door was always open no matter what or when.  
An incredible sense of humor, he loved to share his new jokes and sometimes old ones, always made me laugh.
I kept candy in my office drawer so he had to ask me for it, although he knew where I kept the key.  Late afternoon, if you were the lucky one he heard walking by his office, you might hear "Is the Bakery open?"

Charlie was one of the nicest, and smartest, persons that I have ever known.  He was also a good friend and mentor over the past 20 years.  Always quick with a thought or looking for ways to help.  He knew more about each topic in the industry than I know about all of them.  Yet, he would always involve me and was happy to discuss.

Charlie's card playing abilities were magical, as he knew every hand like a mathematician.  His hospitality was second to none and I greatly enjoyed spending evenings over a good meal, wine, and cards.  

He was a great man that I will always remember.

 


Charlie was my boss and the reason I stayed at  Chemical Data for 30 years.  Without a doubt one of the most intelligent and quick witted individuals I've ever met.  I admired his simpleness at times, like the way he got excited when he discovered a fresh pkg of his favorite candies or snacks in his desk drawer that I picked up when I went shopping.  The little things that he enjoyed in between being so incredibly busy gathering such important information to deliver to his clients.  Charlie ... you will live on forever in my heart ❤ 

Charlie was my boss, mentor and friend for the past 40 years. Some may not know that was a great cook, host and a superior cards player! He will be sorely missed but never forgotten!
