

Charlotte Jean Cooke (nee Blayney), born June 25, 1932, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on March 21, 2016 at the age of 83. Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Lloyd (Hony), daughter Vickie Lynn, and parents John & Inez Blayney. She is survived by 4 children: Karen (Michael) Golden of Houston, TX, Lloyd Mark (Ellen) Cooke of Houston, TX, Cindy (Jeffrey) Jenko of Lake Orion, MI, and Kelly Cooke (Robert Gauthier) of Houston, TX; 10 Grandchildren: Creighton, Heather, Amanda, Jacob, Shane, Korie, Ryan, Courtney, Kelsey, & Karleigh; and 9 Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by a few special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Char was born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan and graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1950. She married the love of her life that same year and they raised 4 children in Waterford Township.
Char worked for many years as a medical office receptionist before retiring to Haines City, Florida in 1991. She and Hony spent 20 years enjoying the sunshine state before his death in 2011. Char remained in Florida until September of 2014 when she relocated to Houston, Texas to be near 3 of her children. Char was a wonderful friend to many and will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
