Cherie Chandler Wilks

Cherie devoted more than 35 years to serving mothers and babies as an IBCLC-certified lactation consultant, offering expert guidance, compassion, and steady encouragement to countless families. Her work touched generations of mothers and children and remains a meaningful part of her legacy.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Cherie was a devoted Christian and an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church of Houston, where her faith shaped a life centered on service, kindness, and care for others.

Cherie is survived and deeply missed by her beloved husband, Theodor Wilks; her children, David Wilks, Daniel Wilks, Doug Wilks, and Diana Wilks Mazariegos; and her grandchildren, Brianda Wilks Traylor, Blake Wilks, Haley Small, Chandler Wilks, Kyle Wilks, Xander Wilks and Griffin Wilks. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Cherie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her lifelong dedication to helping others, and the quiet strength of her faith. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held on January 30, 2026, at 10:00 am at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.

A Memorial service will follow at the same location at 11:00 am. A catered reception is scheduled for 12:00 pm on the same day in the Event Room.
