Born in Hebei, China, February 3, 1924, Brother Wei was first introduced to Christianity while in junior high. It was not until college, however, that he personally met the Lord Jesus Christ and became a born again Christian. From that time forward, he began to zealously pursue the Lord Jesus.
In 1949, the Lord miraculously brought him to Taiwan where he eventually began his lifelong ministry as a servant of Christ Jesus. He was married in 1956. Over the course of his years of service to the Lord, he was led from Taiwan to Hong Kong in 1971, then to Los Angeles, California in 1973, and finally to Houston, Texas in 1982.
His heart’s desire was always to love the Lord Jesus and to treasure His word. He spent his life teaching, encouraging, serving and fellowshipping with saints in many localities. His burden was that Christians would be true to the treasure which God has entrusted them, namely His Son Jesus, and that they would faithfully live out His testimony in their everyday lives.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lynette Shu-Chuan Wei; his five daughters and sons-in-law Tai and Catherine Wang, Paul and Florence Chang, Hailong and Alice Yong, Jeff Kao and Victoria Wei, Dale “Chip” and Gloria King; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 1 sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm.
