

Chlonita Mahaffey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at the age of 100. Born in Sikes, Louisiana, on November 21, 1924, Chlonita lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and compassion.
She spent much of her life in the Humble and Houston area, where she built a warm and loving home with her husband, Thomas Mahaffey. Together, they raised three children: Ronnie, Patsy, and Neva. After the passing of her husband TJ she lived with her Daughter Neva spending several years in Good Ol Days retirement community where she had many meaningful friendships. Chlonita spent her last months with family in Spring. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Sam, Troy, David and Rachael
A devout Christian, Chlonita was known for her deep love of scripture and her dedication to Bible study. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially working through word searches and puzzles and sharing thoughtful conversations. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Chlonita will be remembered for her kind heart, loving nature, and the compassion she extended to all. Her presence was a true gift, and she will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well lived for Chlonita on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home in the Family Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. The funeral service will began 11:00 AM with a burial to follow at 12:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
