

Christine Harris Oxendine passed away peacefully on March 15, 2015 with family and close friends by her side after a valiant battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was a Virginia girl who chose Houston as her home.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents Marvin and Helen Oxendine, as well as, her maternal grandmother Alma Hughes. She is survived by her son Austin Oxendine, her wife Wendy Oxendine, step children Payton, Jessica, Ethan, Emily, and Abigayle Kotz. She is also survived by her two sisters Cyndy Breaux (Roland), Sandra George (Daniel), brother Marvin Russell Oxendine, two nieces Michele Shaffer (Todd), Tiffany Strader, nephew Matthew Oxendine, and a host of family and friends.
She will always be remembered for her love of family, friends, bbq, fishing, hunting, beer, beach and working her dog as a K-9 Officer. She served in the U.S. Air Force followed by the U.S. Air Guard and spent the last twenty years with Customs and Border Protection K-9 Officer Program.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19th from 5-8pm followed by funeral service, Friday, March 20th at 2pm in the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer. There will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Christine's honor to www.mdanderson.org or www.marycrowley.org to further research for Ovarian Cancer.
