

Chrystine Kingrea Rayburn, a Houston resident for over 70 years, passed away peacefully on the 27th of June 2011, at the age of 97. She was born on the 16th of April 1914, one of five children, to Green and Mabel Giles Kingrea in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Chrystine moved to Houston in 1934 and two years later, she met and married the love of her life, Madison Rayburn, an attorney from Lubbock, Texas. Chrystine was an active volunteer in the Blue Bird Circle with Methodist Hospital for over 40 years. She also enjoyed volunteering in other civic, church, and social service groups and loved the community of Houston. Chrystine was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was known for her love of people, her gracious hospitality to family and friends, and her generosity of spirit. Chrystine was a great blessing to her beloved family and will be truly missed by all.
Chrystine was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, the late Madison Rayburn. She is survived by her four children, Cynthia Rayburn Wright of Temecula, California, Giles Madison Rayburn of Houston, Texas, John King Rayburn of Washington, D. C., and James Cecil Rayburn of Magnolia, Texas. Chrystine is also survived by her seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will gather for a private interment service at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
