Claire Heckmann

Claire Louise Heckmann passed away peacefully on October 12, 2012. Claire was born in Chicago Illinois May 23, 1942. She attended Illinois College in Jacksonville Illinois and earned a degree in math and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. After one year of grad school at Oklahoma University, she returned to Chicago and was hired by the Texaco Credit Card Department. She was transferred to Houston in 1969, and retired after 32 years of service.

She is survived by her brother Robert and his wife Kenda, nieces Kiesa Heckmann, Hiedi Kocha, husband Chris, grand nephew Haidan, grand niece Katheryn, and uncles Howard Heckmann and Richard Larson.

Claire is also survived by her adopted family Ken and Micki Zell, daughter Debbie Turner, husband Ty, daughter Suzy Collums, husband James and their two sons Keegan and Sammy.

A special thanks to American Hospice and the team of caretakers who made sure Claire was cared for in her final days. Enough cannot be said about Salome Kum, who was a primary caregiver to Claire for over one year. Salome and Ken were with her in her final hour.
