Claudia Dale Fuller (Hendley), 87, of Houston, Texas, entered into the gates of Heaven to begin her eternal life with the Lord on May 17th, 2024. Claudia was born on February 2, 1937, in Houston, Texas to Chester David Hendley and Harriett “Joyce” Hendley (Rion). Claudia was a life-long believer and made the decision to give her life to Christ at the tender age of 8; when she made her public profession of faith through baptism at Irvington United Pentecostal Church in Houston. She began serving her local church as the pianist/organist when she was 12. Irvington is not only where her ministry started but the place she met the love of her life, Reverend Douglas Fuller, whom she married in March of 1956.
Claudia and Douglas shared a calling from the Lord, and after attending Bible College, began evangelizing throughout the nation encouraging numerous churches that are still in existence to this day. The couple eventually returned to the Houston area, where Claudia was the music director for the “End Time Voice of Prophecy Broadcast” which was one of the first Christian TV broadcasts on Channel 26. Claudia and Douglas co-founded the Houston Revival Center (HRC) in 1970 with Reverand Curtis Lacey, deceased, and Joyce Lacey. Not only did Claudia and Douglas share the Gospel message with the people of Houston, but they had an extensive mission program throughout Mexico and Honduras through their organization, Revival Centers International (RCI). Through RCI, they were able to plant numerous pastors and established a bible school in Honduras C.A. Claudia was also the music and choir director at HRC and was surrogate mother for the entire congregation.
In addition to her clergy work, Claudia supported her family as a legal secretary at the prestigious Baker Botts law firm, where she worked in the Oil & Gas department. In the later years of her employment, she was hand selected to be the legal secretary for five retired partners due to her prompt and meticulous work ethic. She continued her work for “her partners” long after her retirement, up until the last partner passed in 2020. She thoroughly enjoyed her job and was extremely proud of the work she did at Baker Botts. Her passion and dedication to the legal field was a large influence on her granddaughter attending law school and becoming an attorney.
Claudia loved music, especially old hymns, and classic gospel songs. Her favorite being “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” She also was a bit of a musical prodigy, playing 6 instruments: piano, organ, violin, clarinet, flute, and the accordion. Her best instrument however was her beautiful alto voice that would fill up any room in which she was singing. She was known to break out into song or to strike up a chorus at social gatherings, and if you gave her a microphone you were in for show.
In addition to her love of music, she had a wonderful sense of humor and loved sharing many laughs with friends while playing dominos. She also really enjoyed travelling, her favorite trips included touring the Holy Land in Jerusalem, visiting England and Italy, and taking a cruise down the Seine River in France. While at home she cherished her weekly shopping dates with her neighbors, eating out at restaurants, and enjoying time with her family—especially her great grandchildren who were the light of her life. In the last few years, she became a devout member of Christ Family Church in Cypress, Texas wherein she attended service every Sunday, rain, or shine, and was a beloved member of the prayer service during the week.
Claudia’s prayer life was truly an inspiration to all that knew her. If anyone needed prayer, she was the one to call. When she prayed, Heaven moved. She leaves a legacy of faith, hope, and love. She didn’t just talk the talk, but she truly walked the walk by mirroring the love that God had for her, to all the people that she met. Before she passed, she challenged us to pick up the torch and teach the younger generation the path to righteousness that she so humbly marched. She directed us to pray daily, and in earnest, and to be grateful in all things. Claudia was not only the matriarch of the Fuller family, but the matriarch of those that loved and looked up to her. She loved sharing the word of God and brought so many to Christ and encouraged even more to deepen their relationship with Jesus. Her gentle spirit was loved by all that knew her, which was evident in her last days as she had a continuous flow of visitors to sit with her, pray with her, and love her—for which the family is forever grateful.
Claudia was kind, sweet, patient, humble, quiet, yet so funny. She was an example of how to live, but she also taught us how to die—with joy and peace in her heart. She knew without a shadow of a doubt where she was going and was looking forward to being reunited with those that went before her, and to finally meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will miss her every day of our lives, but we take great joy in the fact that she is now living pain free, singing with the angel choir.
