Clay was born in Maben Mississippi to Lillian & Roscoe McCool. Lillian and Roscoe have preceded Clay in death. Clay is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elaine, his son, Jacob & Daughter-in-Law, Stacy. He is also survived by siblings Sue and her husband, Bobby Phelps, Jerry and wife, Sheila McCool, Randy & Wife, Debbie McCool, multiple nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Clay grew up in the Maben MS area, Graduated from Maben HS in 1965. Clay joined the US Marine Corps in December of 1966 and served honorably until February of 1976. Clay then studied and graduated from Mississippi State University. Clay Joined Exxon after Graduation from Mississippi State and worked for them for 33 years as an employee and consultant and retired upon diagnosis of Cancer.
Clay's last adventure and journey was battling cancer. He succumbed to cancer at the Houston Hospice.
