My heart aches with the homegoing of our Uncle Leslie. I will always remember his quiet strength, wisdom, and the way he carried himself with dignity and purpose. He was my “Headmaster” in Bartica Secondary School where my brother Junior “Junie” and I attended. Sitting in school as students, we saw him in a role that others respected. But we knew something more: behind the title of “Headmaster” was our uncle, who cared just a little extra, who watched over us with love, and pride, and who quietly made sure we stayed on the right path. My mom “Jemmy” and Uncle Leslie taught school together and became good friends and later became Junie’s uncle and godfather and always gave him extra hugs 😊 when we visited in the summer. He would always tell my dad Morty and Grandma Lucille how proud he was of us. Though he is no longer with us, we hold the values he instilled, the cherished memories, and the love that remains. 

Uncle Leslie, thank you for being our teacher in life, not just in school. Thank you for watching over us, believing in us, and loving us. You will never be forgotten. “Sleep in Heavenly Peace.”

RIP Uncle Leslie. Words cannot begin to describe or express the impact you have had on my life and career. You always had positive words of encouragement or enlightenment whenever I would ask for advice and you always inspired me to do more and to give more. Thank you for the part that you played in my life.

Mr. Brusch was a wonderful man and a powerful educator. He will be truly missed. My condolences to his wonderful wife and family.

I remember him coming to Trinidad and he must cook his pepper pot. That stayed for days just reheating on the stove.  Kenth was the most adventurous to try it.
Clayton will always be remember and love by all in Trinidad.

I remember Clayton as a gifted and well-rounded educator, respected by colleagues in Freeport, Bahamas.

Some of my fond memories of Uncle Leslie.

His story telling: Engaging and animated . The more he got into the story the faster he spoke.( even faster than his normal speech)

His laughter : Always a quick smile and a belly laugh that cause his eyes to close to slits.

His love of food: He was open to trying all types . A true connoisseur of good food. I remember him saying "why fetch food in a bowl when I can fetch it in my stomach."
He was always funny and funloving .

2. His ability to speak his mind. Mr. Brusch never held back his thoughts but he would let you know exactly where he stands on a matter.  

He was a giant of a human being.
