

Clayton Emmanuel Sather was born on November 17, 1960. The son of Charlotte Gunderson and James Sather. He attended Beloit Memorial High, where participated in the school orchestra He played viola. . In the summers of 1976 and 1977, he stayed with family of Eugene and Vida Gunderson (his uncle and aunt) and toured along with his cousins with the Sundowners Drum and Bugle Corp. He became an accomplished Xylophone player. His Mother says he lost 50 pounds, his first summer with the Corp from having to carry the extremely heavy instrument. Clayton’s sense of humor and funny disposition made him a popular member of the Drum Corp. Clay’s time with the Drum Corp was something he treasured and it sparked a life-long love of all Drum Corp International events, which he followed religiously.
He attended college for a while then moved to Baltimore where he briefly worked at Johns Hopkins. When he came to Texas, he attended the Texas School of Business. Upon completion of his degree, he began his career as an accountant.
This lead him to his favorite job as Senior Accountant at Stanford Financial, a position he held until he was no longer able to work.
Clayton was involved with The Empire of The Royal, Sovereign, Imperial Court of the Single Star, where he went on to become Empress XIV. He was very proud of this accomplishment and his time with the Court.
Clayton was a beautiful soul and a wonderful person. He fought his disease with humor and dignity until the end. He will be missed greatly.
Clayton is survived by his mother, Charlotte Hubbard, His brother Dennis (Sharon, wife) and Sister Susan and his nieces and nephews and his Partner Nat Ortiz
