Cletis attended Dayton High School in Dayton, Indiana and later served in the U.S. Army. He was a member and Grand Mason of Masonic Lodge No 103 in Dayton, Indiana. He worked for many years as a machinist at Dover Norriseal until he eventually retired. Cletis loved fishing and working on cars.
He is preceded in death by his wife Billie Ruth Smith, he is survived by his sisters Hillard and Phyiss and brothers Richard, Kenny and Gene. He is also survived by his sons Cletis Robert Smith and his girlfriend Becky Risley, Alton James Walsh (and wife Tammy) and grandchildren Shain Bearden, Cleve Bearden, Riley Smith, Alison Walsh, Andy Walsh and great grandchildren Conley, Cole, Chloe, Ellie, Jana, Kaydence, Isiah and Christian.
There will be a visitation at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Chapel located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077 on Wednesday December 17, 2014 at 9:00 am directly followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m.
