

Clinton Joseph Blanchard, a loving husband and father, passed away on April 5, 2017 in Houston, Texas following a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Clinton was born August 27, 1934 in Eunice, Louisiana to Melda and Eddie Blanchard. Clinton graduated from Church Point High School in Church Point, Louisiana. Following graduation he served in the Air Force for four years. During this time he married his high school sweetheart, Bertha Savoy. Bertha and Clinton were married for nearly 62 years. Once discharged from the service, he attended and graduated from the University of Southern Louisiana as a Mechanical Engineer. He worked his entire 34-year career for Texaco, retiring as a Vice President with the southern division of the pipelines. During this time he worked in Louisiana, Tulsa, Houston and Manhattan; serving the company in a variety of positions; representing Texaco on many affiliated boards; and formed many lasting relationships with his coworkers. Upon retirement, he worked as general contractor for the building of his barn and home, enjoyed volunteer work, mowing on his tractor, gardening and rebuilding old cars on his farm in Brenham, Texas.
Clinton is preceded in death by his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Ludie and Ray White; and his son, Steven Blanchard. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Savoy Blanchard; his children and their spouses, Philip and Trecia Blanchard, Elizabeth Blanchard and Rick Stone; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Shelton and Peggy Blanchard and Melvie and Shirley Blanchard; his grandchildren, Richard and Charity Stone, Garrett and MJ Stone, Lindsay and Michael Young and ten great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2017. The funeral service will be held in the Memorial Oaks Chapel on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
