Born on October 10, 1932 in Decatur, Georgia, Clinton graduated from Decatur Boys’ High School in 1950. He attended Oglethrope University, followed by Emory University Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. With one year remaining in his education for a law degree, Clinton left Emory to enlist in the Army, where he attained the rank of Corporal. Following his military service, Clinton began a career in the oil and gas industry, working for several oil companies before joining Texaco. He met his wife Gladys Huling and they were married in 1965. His tenure with Texaco working as a financial analyst took him from Atlanta, Georgia to Chicago, Illinois, before he finally settled in Houston, Texas. He retired from Texaco in 1994 and remained in Houston.
Clinton was an avid reader and amassed a large collection of books. He had a passion for cars from an early age, and he enjoyed collecting models of antique cars. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with family.
Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, Linton Ward Fincher and Margaret Harbuck Fincher, his siblings, Margaret Reynolds, Ward Fincher, and Thomas Fincher. He is survived by his wife Gladys Huling Fincher and daughter Nicole Fincher Cadungog and husband Judgre; former sister-in-law Gloria Smith; and grandchildren Joshua, Micaela, Madeleine, Elijah, and Gideon Cadungog, as well as extended family of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM followed by a Graveside service at 11:30 AM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Forest Park Westheimer, Houston, Tx 77077.
