

Colton Lawrence Marcantel, 24 years old, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Colton was born on September 30, 1998 in Houston, TX. He lived in Houston, TX; Spring Branch, TX: Pullman, WA; and Spokane, Washington. He is loved and will be deeply missed by his brother, Zach Marcantel; his parents Kelley Marcantel, Kim Brodie, James Marcantel, and Wende Marcantel.
Colton is survived by his brother who resides in Austin, TX; his mothers, who reside in Boerne, TX; father and stepmother, who reside in Sulphur, LA; paternal grandmother, who resides in Sulphur, LA; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who reside in Canada, Texas, Iowa, Montana and Louisiana.
Colton was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ann Johnson (1/16/1993) and grandfather, Jack Johnson (8/5/1997).
A proud, longtime Texan, Colton lived with a unique view of the world. He never met a stranger – adult or child, nor missed an opportunity to greet an animal. He had a sweet, generous heart. He was gifted with a quick wit, and pure enthusiasm and joy for having fun. He excelled at math and loved “holding your cash” just for the feel of it!
Colton always looked up to his brother, Zach and worked hard to follow in his footsteps to achieve career success and financial independence. He found his true path and hit his stride academically, impressing faculty and parents alike. Colton will receive his Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from Gonzaga University. Colton was regularly on the Dean’s and President’s Lists at Gonzaga and active in the Investment Club and intramural activities.
Making lifelong friendships is one of Colton’s blessings and he cherished his time with friends and family. He embraced laughter and friendship, and his friends and family remember him as one who lived boldly, loved deeply, and saw the best in everyone.
Colton lives on through tissue and organ donation, fulfilling his dream of helping others and teaching us all how to be generous and kind. He is loved and will be missed by many.
A memorial service to celebrate Colton will be announced at a later date.
Memorial funds have been established in Colton’s name.
