Connor James Wittrock Green was born in Houston, Texas on December 19, 2009 to Michael Dale Green and Rebecca Lynn Wittrock. Connor died at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas on August 2, 2018 after battling leukemia and undergoing two bone marrow transplants during his fourteen-month fight. He is survived by his parents, his sister Megan, age 6, his paternal grandparents Danny and Ronda Green, his paternal great-grandmother Marge Green, his maternal grandparents Jim and Jan Wittrock, his uncle and aunt Robb and Andrea Montgomery, his uncle and aunt Brett and Ginger Green and cousins Alex, Ryden, Takeko, Smoke Jensen and Sabre Green.

He attended both Pope and Wells Elementary schools excelling at math and science and was part of the Horizons program for talented and gifted students. He was fascinated with computers and technology to the point of building his own computer and learning to code. Connor loved outdoor activities he could do with his neighborhood friends including playing soccer, swimming, riding his scooter or bike and skateboarding. He spent many happy hours building Legos sets and watching Star Wars movies. Had he been able to receive his Make-a-Wish trip, Connor and his family were planning to visit the Lego headquarters in Denmark and to meet his generous, anonymous stem cell donor who resides in Europe. He enjoyed reading the Harry Potter books with his parents before he fell asleep each night.

Connor was shy but made many friends and loved laughing, being tickled, snuggling with his Mom and wrestling with his Dad and Megan. He attended Sunday school and church services at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, August 9th at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church 11507 Huffmeister Rd. Houston, TX. Visitation will be held immediately prior to mass beginning at 9:45 a.m. If family or friends wish to write Connor a letter, these messages may be delivered to the visitation. A celebration of life luncheon will be provided at the church immediately following mass for all who wish to attend.

Connor's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the compassionate Texas Children's physicians, nurses and caregivers who loved and cared for the entire family during his illness. In lieu of flowers, his family respectfully requests donations be made in his memory to either Texas Children’s Hospital ( or His Grace Foundation ( which provides physical, emotional and financial support for the patients and families on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit of Texas Children’s Hospital

We will miss Connor’s nightly knock on the door for the kids to come out and play. Dylan will miss his Nerf gun fighting, trampoline jumping, 360 riding, scooter racing friend. Allie will always blush at the memory of Connor being her first crush. Our family will miss his sweet smile sitting at our kitchen table laughing with the kiddos. Connor will forever hold a place in our hearts and we are so grateful for the time he was with us.

I am so heart broken over this news. I’ll never forget Connor and his biggest smiles! You had taken a piece of my heart when you left CLA, and now you have it with you in heaven. I miss ruffling your curly hair and hearing your sweet giggles.

To your family, I pray for peace and comfort during this time. Please know that Connor will never be forgotten and he was so, so loved.

Connor & Mason attended Apex Academy & CLA together. They were best friends right from the start, two peas in a pod. As a mom, I was always so glad Mason had a friend like Connor he just loved to see at school each day. We had to say we’ll see you again when you moved to Houston, and we know we’ll see you again one day in heaven.

I was so privileged to know your family, as Connor (and Megan’s) childcare Director at numerous locations over several years.

There are so many things I loved about Connor. I loved that you had to work for his ear to ear smile. It made those smiles more special. I loved watching him hunt for the elf on the shelf in the lobby each morning. And that he was so gentle and sweet to our school fur babies. I loved watching him play with blocks and build things- he had such attention to detail. Connor could be shy at first, but once he loved you, that shyness disappeared.

Connor was so special to me (and many others.) I’m thankful he is now cured. And that I got to know him- if only for a season in life.

Continued prayers in the coming days and weeks. ❤️

Such an amazing child with so many, athletic, funny, handsome and loving. His candle burned out too early. We will keep him present in our hearts and minds forever.
