

Connie was brought up with a strong Christian background at Temple Bautista in Beaumont, Texas. That is where she met Frank L. Gonzales, her husband of 67 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Consuelo Cantu Martinez and Porfirio Martinez of Monterrey, Mexico. Sisters Faith M. Valdez, Hope M. Tejada; brother Claude Martinez, daughter Deborah Arlene Moore and great grandson, Christian Shay Nelson.
Connie is survived by her husband of 67 years Frank L. Gonzales; daughters Patricia R. Landry, husband Chester Landry of Kaplan, Louisiana; Katherine Y. Kerstetter of Tomball, Texas; sons Stephen D. Gonzales of Tomball, Texas; Frank Gonzales Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas; Thomas A. Gonzales of Magnolia, Texas. Eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Connie was a strong and faithful woman of God who loved music, and sang beautiful solos and duets with the church choir.
Connie loved the outdoors, vacationing at Garner State Park, she loved caring for her birds and squirrels. She was an animal lover, and loved all of God’s creatures.
“Coach Con” became her given name because she was a huge Texas sports fan always watching and commenting on the players for the Astros, Rockets and Texans!
