As her father was a geologist, she lived in many parts of the United States. Connie graduated from Lafayette High School then attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. Connie graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. While at LSU, she was a member of Chi Omega. Connie married her childhood beau, Joseph Wesley Murphy, in 1954.
Connie was pre-deceased by husband Joe, youngest daughter Melissa and grandson Ryan. She is survived by Jane Anne Wallace and husband Stephen, Nancy C. Windrum and husband Bart Windrum, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one great, great granddaughter.
