This was my last time seeing Craig. He was a very funny and kind person. You have been with me since I was a baby. I love you, Craig.

My deepest condolences to the McIlwain family.  This was a tragic shock to all who knew Craig.  Craig was a truly incredible friend, teammate and leader.  Absolutely one of the finest officers I have worked with, his passion for his team and mission was limitless, and his enthusiasm made him a joy to be around. Words cannot adequately express our sadness at his passing.  Please know we are thinking of you and praying for your family.

My heartfelt condolences to the McIlwain family for your loss.  In the short time that I met him, he had an infectious smile, was focused on reuniting with his children in Houston, and ready to transition to his post-Army life.   My thoughts and prayers with you all during this difficult time.  The Army Petroleum Center mourns his loss along with you.

Many prayers to the family of Col. McIllwain. He was my 2nd Company Commander & provided such great support for me, through my formidable years.

On one hand, I am very happy to hear he had a great military career & lived a wonder life growing such a beautiful family. On the other, I am very saddened that he was taken much too soon.

I hope his daughters know that their father was an outstanding mentor to everyone he knew and very strong Army leader🙏🏽

Craig was my pledge brother at SFA and I have very fond memories of him. I saw him again in 2014 at a football game and enjoyed the laughs. What a great guy. Love you brother, Travis Johnson
