

Cynthia Gail Ogoe “the proudest mom ever”, aged 67, passed away on October 21st, 2022 in Houston, TX.
Cynthia was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Willie and Ruby King on August 21st, 1955. She graduated from W.O. Boston High School in 1973, McNeese State University in 1986, and later earned an MBA from University of Houston Victoria in 2009. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 25 years and then for Alief Independent School District for 15 years. Most recently as a Family Engagement Liaison in the Parent Center at Mahanay Elementary School.
She Married Albert Timothy Ogoe on February 12th, 1982 and had 3 sons: Albert Timothy Ogoe Jr, Dereq Zachary Ogoe, and Emmanuel Charles Ogoe. She found a church home at Praise Christian Church in Houston, TX and then at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church in Richmond, TX. Cynthia was most proud of being a mother to her 3 sons and was always willing to share her motherly love and wisdom with her extended family, church family, friends, and even strangers she met in passing.
Cynthia is preceded in death by parents Willie and Ruby King, sisters Ruth, Geneva, Carol, and Lois.
Cynthia is survived by husband Albert; sons Albert Jr, Dereq, and Emmanuel; siblings Cherry, Lesha, and Willie; and grandchildren: Alena and Alen.
The Ogoe family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Mahanay Elementary School, the doctors and nurses at West Houston Medical Center, and support from all friends and family during this time.
We’ll miss Cynthia tremendously, but celebrate the impact that she made on each of our lives while she was with us!
