Cynthia "Cindy" Wilson

Cynthia “Cindy” Yohe Wilson, of Houston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 6th of August 2026. We have lost a mother, daughter, friend, and guide, and a woman whose strength, humor, and wisdom touched so many throughout her life. She was 67 years of age.

Cindy was born on the 5th of April 1959, in Pasadena, Texas. She attended Sam Rayburn High School and was a proud graduate of the University of Houston, where she studied psychology.

Cindy was a steadfast supporter of her children and a constant source of sage advice, strength, and encouragement. Cindy was happiest with family and friends gathered around her table. She was an incredible cook, famous for her chicken and dumplings, Greek bread, and olive chicken.

For many years, Cindy served as the manager of Safeway Driving School in Houston, where she loved working with high school students and their families. She took great pride in giving back to her community and encouraging the young people she met.

In her later years, Cindy moved from Houston to San Diego to be near her daughter Claire. Those years gave Cindy precious time close to family and created memories that will always be treasured.

Cindy never let those she loved to forget just how deeply they were loved. Her familiar words, “Love you to the moon and back,” will remain with us always.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sam and Lorraine Martin, and Louis and Louise Yohe.

Cindy is survived by her father, Bob Yohe and his wife Diane; her mother, JoAnn Goodwin; her children, Robert Wilson Jr. and his wife Victoria, Kathleen Robinson and her husband Shawn, and Claire Wilson; her grandson, Charlie Wilson; her beloved dog, Annie; and the many family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Friends are cordially invited to celebrate Cindy’s life at a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 18th of August, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the Houston SPCA in Cindy’s memory and in support of the rescue animals she loved throughout her life by selecting the link below under "Donations."
