Dale was born in Dallas, Texas to Meral and Agnus Roberts in September 30, 1941. They moved to Pasadena, Texas when he was three. He graduated from South Houston High School in 1960 and worked in the financial field before going to work for Houston Telephone Federal Credit Union in 1968. Over the years, he held several positions within the company including President and CEO of PrimeWay Federal Credit Union from 1997 until his retirement in 2007. He served on the boards of various organizations with Texas Telco, ITCUA, President of Houston Chapter of Credit Unions, Board Chairman of Credit Union Acceptance, Board Chairman of Career, Recovery, and Resources, and Texas Credit Union League. As a 1987 graduate, he received the Southwest Cuna Management School Alumnus of the Year award in 2006. In 2010, his induction into the Texas Credit Union Hall of Fame marked the proudest moment of his career.

Survived by his wife and the love of his life, Terry Roberts; grandson Josh Roberts; niece Jackie Kamholtz; sister-in-laws Darlene Wells and her husband Mike; Karen Holland; brother-in-law Jeff Hutchison and his wife Mia; nieces Tonya Freeman and her husband Wilson; Randa Scott and her husband Mike; Ruth Ane Robinson and her husband Philip; Lori McCrory and her husband Russell; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Dale loved life and always lived it to the fullest. He never met a stranger. Dale will be deeply missed by all that knew him, including his wife, family, and friends.
