He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and served in The United States Army in Fort Polk, Louisiana. He spent most of his professional career at The Houston Chronicle as a pressman, working steadfastly for 28 years. Daniel also attended Fairmont Park Baptist Church and graduated from The South Houston Bible Institute. At home, he loved listening to Elvis Presley, and watching television with his beloved cat.
Those left to cherish Daniel’s spirit include his loving wife, Sally Alyea; his brothers, John and Richard Alyea; his children, Kathy, David, Donna, and Darren; his loving grandchildren, and his cat, Baby Girl.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 28, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, with Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 a.m.. In lieu of traditional floral offerings, the family requests that donations may be directed to The Alzheimer’s Association in Daniel’s memory.
