

Daniel M. Dungca Sr. (Danny), 84, passed away at his home in Cypress, Texas surrounded by his family on Tuesday January 12, 2021. He lived a complete life and was called to come back home by our Heavenly Father.
Daniel was born on July 21, 1936 in Pampanga, Philippines. He lived quite a content life and was known to live as if each day was his last. He devoted his whole life to his family. He selflessly moved to Saudi Arabia by himself where he worked as a skillful truck driver to provide for his entire family. Then braving the United States to work for a house cleaning service with his beloved “brother” Benny Dungca until he retired to enjoy life with his family.
During his time, he loved watching wrestling and sports shows. He was a big fan of football and basketball. He loved playing poker during family gatherings. Despite having health issues, he was well known to jokingly sneak a bottle or two of Coca-cola and when caught by family, he would often say, “menanu mo ita?” or “ala namang duda ita”. He was well loved by his family and will be remembered with his kindness, love, and devotion to his family and friends.
He was a well-respected founding member of Union Espiritista-Sibul Tagumpe Ning Bie where he was addressed as “Pwersa Ning Ampunan”.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rosita Dungca, siblings Magdalena and Edgar, his children and 25 grandchildren.
His life and memories will be celebrated with a viewing of his remains on Saturday January 16, 2021 at Brookside Funeral Home located at 9149 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77095 from 2 pm to 8 pm.
