What a man…. Like it has been said many times, he has never known a stranger. You you would be in a very long conversation with him and many times you try to wrap it up and leave. He would keep the conversation going and then what seemed like 10 minutes later he would say something like you have kept me long enough and that he had things to do……. Who kept who?? But always an interesting conversation.  I was always treated like family. If you knew him, you knew he had a huge love for his family and friends. 
It’s times like these that you wish you could have just one more of those conversations.

Hey Pops, Its Me your FAVORITE Daughter. Haha You Always made sure we had a great Christmas and this year you did it again. We know you were not feeling well and you gave your all to show us how much you loved us and to be with us one last Christmas. I can’t thank you enough for that! You were always a hard-working man, if the sun was up you were working to make sure we never went without and we didn’t.  You taught us to be brave and take that leap of faith to fulfill our dreams when you quit Grocery Supply and started your own business. I miss working with you in that office and hearing you say you’re fired every other day!  You taught us how to stand up for what we believe even if we had to stand alone, but we never had to stand alone because you and mom always had our backs even if you didn’t agree with us you still loved us and had our backs. You showed us that family loyalty was number one. Our family fights and fusses just like the rest of the world but if one of us needs something we all stand together and help and fight together. I remember when I was young, I said “its not like I am going to live next door to you my whole life” but I can’t think of any other place I would have wanted to be. Like your other kids said, (not your favorite ones hahahaha), you taught us so much and we are so thankful for it. We will do our best to pass it on down from Generation to Generation. There are so many memories that as a family we will all share time and time again. I imagine your mansion has a few acres with horses to ride and ponds for fishing with Uncle Joseph & Grandpa. but don't forget us down here. We will never forget you. I love you more than you knew! Pop's, 
God only knows how much I miss you! I try not to be selfish because I know you are in a better place, with no more pain. I know you are ok and happy, but I am selfish and want you here. I miss you and things aren't the same and never will be. Life will go on and time will pass by but you will always be with me, you have a special place in my heart.  I will never forget the times we had, the memories I will always have. You told me Christmas night that I was a good man.  I just pray that one day I will be half the man you were. you were the best Pops, except your domino game! lol we will play again when it is my time to come home and I'll bring the dominos! Pops I don't know if I ever told you how grateful I was and how you were such a big impact in my life. You kept me on my toes. The times that I was outside working and like magic there you were coming around the corner on your green gator. I'd give anything to hear you coming around that corner and seeing you behind the wheel. I could go on and on, but I just need you to know that I love you Pops. My heart hurts because I miss you so much. I won't say goodbye Pops because it is not goodbye. One day I will see you when its my time for me to come home.  If they have green gators up in Heaven, I hope to see you coming around that corner on one.

Daniel was one of a kind and will definitely be missed.  I don't think there was anything he couldn't fix.  I will never forget all the card games, Daniel and Emmett bragging about beating Mom and Judy in 42, and the deer lease adventures.  I will always remember us almost getting kicked out of the hospital because we were laughing so hard and being loud.  He was tough as nails but had a sweet side to him as well.  Love you and thank you for the memories.  Until we meet again!

To Judy, Troi, Susan, Joey, and Little Daniel......may you find peace and comfort in the coming days and hold all the wonderful memories close to your heart.  I love you guys!

My dad (Pops), where do I begin. He was the man I looked up to, the man I wanted to be.  He was my go to guy when I had a problem.  He taught me how to be the man I am today.  He taught me how to love family and how to be respectful. He taught me how to be a hard worker, to work for what I needed first, and then for what I wanted secondly. 
I can’t think of many things in my life that I can’t contribute to learning from him like how to be a husband and a father to working, fishing, hunting, shooting, and working on vehicles. From driving/riding anything from a truck to a horse, and anything in between. 
He was the strongest man I knew.  I never knew him to be afraid or back down from anything.   There isn’t much I can say about pops that anyone who had meet him already knows.  He didn’t know a stranger and if you were ever to have a conversation with him, you would need to clear a minimum of an hour if not more of your time.   
Pops could talk, I can remember so many times when we would be leaving his house that he would walk us out give us a big hug and say love you and then walk beside the truck talking to us all the way to the road before letting us go.  I will miss those walks.  
He loved his family and it was always a dream of his for us to find a piece of land and all live on it.  He was a big part of making that dream come true.  We found a place and over time all of his kids made it out there to the Hartman compound lol. 
He was the best grandpa I knew.   To see how he loved all of his grandchildren was an honor and will alway be one of my best memories of him.  I could go on and on about the man he was and will always be in our hearts, but I know if you are hearing this then you already knew.  

I love you Pops and always will.  I know you are up there still watching over all of us, and I hope I continue to make you proud!

Story time. 

We just got back from the deer lease we had in Navasota, and unloaded the truck.  I was 6, and Daniel 7, at the time. Pops was giving us a lesson on cleaning our guns and a bit of gun safety I will never forget.  As Pops pulled the .22 rifle out to show us how to clean it he said, “there is no such thing as an unloaded gun and you alway treat it as if it’s loaded.” He pointed it to the ceiling and pulled the trigger and the gun went off.   All of us were surprised as Pops just shot a hole in our ceiling.  He said, “see what I mean.” That was a lesson learned and I will never forget 

Judy and family my heart goes out to you  all Daniel will be missed by many  He loved life and his family dearly Love always Seletia Prayers for all .

Big Daniel, this one is tough, he was like my second dad growing up. So many stories and amazing memories I was blessed to make and get to keep of him. A personality bigger than life, never met a stranger and not too sure if he could have convo and NOT have a smart alec  comment to toss in there.  He was proud and loud (I was intimidated by him for a good few years, got over that though) Never met a stranger and could “talk the hind leg off a dog”.   I loved that man… and I love the beautiful family he was at the helm of.  I will treasure the last day I spent visiting and talking with him and Momo and Daniel Lance, I got the biggest hug and treasure his words upon saying goodbye that day. He is leaving a huge void that will never be filled, it’s a given we will carry him on in our memories, the multiple stories and adventures we all have of him and I am pretty sure that not one of us won’t have a good one to laugh and recall in fondness of our times with him.   I pray for all of the Hartman’s proper and “adopted”, and the multitude of loving extended family members, and friends who were probably more like family to have a peace in their hearts.
