This is a hard one for me to write because our story had not yet finished at least n my mind but that is the selfish part of me expressing my grief. I am reminded that we are not the author nor the finisher of our stories but there is someone who knows where our stories begin & where our stories end.  As you often said "We are more than friends we are sister's." From our 1st encounter at Clinique who would have guessed we would have crossed paths years later, ended up working together & forming a bond that lasted 25 + years. I feel so blessed to have known you & I will cherish the memories that we made together along with the one's you shared with me that you made with other's.  My sister you will never be forgotten, your wonderful smile will always shine bright in the memories of those who loved you! RIP D...I imagine them saying Welcome Home!

I am glad I had a chance to speak to Danita a couple of weeks ago. We met and worked together at the church we attended in Chicago. She was on my mind, and we spoke for a while laughing and reminiscing. She always had such a laugh and smile that was contagious. I will miss her. My deepest condolences to the family. May God keep you in His care as you migrate this next chapter in life.

Danita, I will miss your beautiful smile, they way you would always call to check on me and mine. A work relationship turned into such a beautiful sisterhood. Spread your wings girl, and continue to look down on all of us with the beautiful smile that will be one of the things, just one of things that I will always remember .

As soon as I met Auntie Ty, I knew that we would instantly be connected. It felt like we had known each other for years. I am grateful that I got to see Auntie and share my love. I am sending my love, condolences, and prayers to Ty’s family, friends, and all who loved her.

Danita was a staunch member of West Point Baptist Church where she was a dedicated trustee! She was a good friend and I will miss her smile and hugs! Rest in peace, Thin Mint! 😭💔

Danita was my first friend at Lindblom Technical High School (1980: Chicago).  We sat next to each other in Division 406 (home room).  She was a brilliant light and I’m grateful to have known her.  🙏🏽
