Mark grew up in Houston, TX and attended Sharpstown High School and Southwest Texas State University. Over his 65 years Mark worked in a variety of industries which included Oil & Gas, HL&P and he started his own insurance agency. Mark was a huge sports fan. His love of the Houston Astros is evident in his extensive hat collection but also well represented in the collection are the Rockets, Texans, University of Houston and his beloved Texas Aggies. He also loved to play and watch golf. He had so many fond memories and great stories of golf trips with his friends. Mark enjoyed being outdoors and spent some of his favorite times at the family "ranch" with friends and family fishing, hunting, building bonfires and driving everyone around in "old Blue". Mark loved music and the history of classic rock bands which resulted in another collection. However, Mark's greatest love was his friends and family.
Mark is survived by his wife of 35 years Christine "Chrissie" Patrick, daughters, Katherine Ann Jensen and husband Ed Jensen and Kimberly Jo Patrick and partner Brandon Smith. Mark was extremely excited about Katherine expecting a baby boy (his first grandchild).
Also left to mourn are his beloved mother Alpha Jo Hunnicutt Patrick, sister Linda Jo Patrick Byrnes and her husband Scott G. Byrnes, sister-in-law Lisa Culver Koen and husband Michael Koen and brother-in-law Gary Culver and partner Merideth Melville, nephew Craig S Byrnes (Jamie), niece Melinda E Byrnes David (Steven), nephew Mitchell Koen, Niece Kate Koen Landers (John), Mathew Koen (Jacquelyn) and nephew Thomas Culver. Great Nieces and Nephews, Grace, Kaden, Madison, Alexia, Jakob, Calvin, Samantha, and Skyler. Mark had numerous cousins that he had many fond memories with and who he loved very much.
Mark was predeceased by his beloved father Darrell D Patrick, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Ann Weber Didion and Jacob Ralph Didion as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his special dog Beauty.
We will all miss Mark's passionate approach to everything, his big laugh, his big smile, sense of humor (kind of corny sometimes) and his big love.
