Darrell James Simoneaux, 76, passed away on April 16, 2026. He was born on September 27, 1949, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His life was marked by steady devotion to family, faithful friendships, and a work ethic that never asked for attention but earned lasting respect.
Darrell graduated in 1967 from St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas, and went on to graduate in 1971 from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. These early years helped shape the disciplined, determined spirit that guided him through every season of life.
In 1975, Darrell began his career at Johnson Supply in the warehouse. Through decades of consistent effort and responsibility, he advanced to retire in 2015 as the Vice President of Finance. His professional life reflected the same values he carried personally—reliability, loyalty, and a willingness to do the work thoroughly and well.
Outside of work, Darrell found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life: softball and golf, going to Astros, Rockets, and Oilers games, relaxing by the pool, cooking barbecue, and spending quality time with his family. Known as the life of the party, Darrell brought people together with ease, and his dedication and loyalty—to friends, family, and career—left a strong and enduring imprint on all who knew him.
Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Simoneaux; his mother, Mildred Spaniel; his brother, Wally Jay Simoneaux; and his son, Wade Simoneaux.
He is survived by his sisters, Jolane Tucker and Roxanna Gibson; his son, David Simoneaux; his daughter-in-law, Katie Simoneaux; his grandsons, Justin Simoneaux and Ryan Simoneaux; his niece, Shana Cooper; his niece, Hollie Tucker; his nephew, Jason Naquin; his niece, Meagan Sanford; and he also leaves behind a great niece, a great nephew, and three great-great nephews.
