

David Chachere Jr. was born November 3, 1947, to the union of David Chachere Sr. and Dorothy Richard Chachere in DeQuincy, Louisiana. At a young age David moved to Houston where he attended Ryan Elementary/Middle School. He then went on to attend Jack Yates High School home of the mighty lions. After high school David enlisted in the United States Army in the communications department. He traveled the world during his four - tours with the Black horse regiment. After a honorable discharge, David attended Houston Community College where he received his Associates Degree in HVAC and then he began working with children at Rosewood Hospital as an occupational therapist. He also drove buses for Metro and worked with late uncle Joe Cook at Sonny Looks.
David married and had four children: Tisho Arline (Rogina), Endria C. McCalla (Demetria), Nicole and Chris (Venita).
David has a passion for history, he loved to read, fish, travel, watch movies and was a Connoisseur of Music. David was definitely a Jack of all trades. He could also make a mean gumbo and BBQ.
David was a faithful member of Brentwood Church until his health declined. David departed this life on October 23, 2024 with his son Chris by his side. At the age of 76 he was preceded in death by his parents David and Dorothy Chachere.
David Leave to cherish his memory: children, Tisho (Reginald Arline), Endria (Brandon McCalla), Chris (Takeira Davis), and Nicole. Grandchildren: Stephen, Ashia, Yanson, and Meeyah. One great granddaughter: Journi L. Davis. His siblings Ethel Goode (Curtis), Donald R Chachere Sr (Elizabeth). A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A reception will occur Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 1:45 PM to 3:45 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
