David Harrington Hyde, 71, beloved husband and cherished father, grandfather and friend left this world on September 25, 2012 to be reunited with the love of his life, our mother – Judith Hyde - and is walking at the side of his Lord and Savior . Despite struggling with increasing physical limitations for the past 10 years, dad remained a cheerful, steady presence in his family’s life, up to the time of his passing showing unbelievable courage and strength all the while charming everyone with his warmth and humor that characterized his life and friendships. His dry wittiness always drew quizzical looks and then laughs from people who met him for the first time and especially those who knew him best.
David was born on November 10, 1940 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Tulsa where he received Bachelors’ Degree and not long after started his career with the Allstate Insurance Company where he worked in many different capacities for 30+ years retiring in 2000.
Throughout his life, David was an active member in church and a devoted Christian. He had many interests and hobbies including singing in the choir, working in the yard and fishing, but most of all his life revolved around family and friends.
David was an extremely loving and proud patriarch of his family. David married Judith Ann Gaskins April 16, 1965 in Chandler, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 37 years. He was preceded in death by his wife and our mother, Judith Ann Hyde, who went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2002. David is survived by his two children and their spouses, Kimberly Ann Rohde married to Ken Rohde and Bryan David Hyde married to Nancy Hyde and his four grandchildren Kelsey Lynn Rohde, Jacob Lane Rohde, Kylie Nicole Hyde and Kennedy Grace Hyde (to be born February 4, 2013). Despite him living a full, rich and loving 71 years, we all wish he could have had more time.
