

David was born in Houston, Texas on December 20, 1943 to the late Willie Levi Jackson and Henrietta Wagner-Jackson. He regularly attended church services from childhood through his high school years and beyond, eventually studying and committing himself to following the Catholic faith, which he followed into his later years. As a child, he showed an early talent for the clarinet and played in school bands from grade school through high school and never lost his love for music. He graduated from Phillis Wheately High School and entered military service – United States Army, in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1967.
He married Eura Lee Theus on July 8, 1967; they were married 58 years. To their union was born one daughter, Belva Elizabeth.
He was employed by Curtain Scientific, Grocery Supply, and retired from the Hearst Company – Houston Chronicle, in 2009.
An avid sports fan, especially of his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Las Angeles Lakers, he was an encyclopedia of sports facts. David also had a passion for current events very similar to his love for sports.
David is survived by his spouse Eura L Jackson, daughter Belva E Stowers (husband Eddie Stowers), sister Willietta (Ann) Morrow (husband Lester Morrow), niece Lauren Hampton (husband Alfred Hampton), niece Patrice Jackson, nephews Paul and Patrick Jackson, other family and friends.
David is preceded in death by his father and mother, Willie Levi Jackson and Henrietta Wagner-Jackson, sister Rose Jackson, and niece Crystal Jackson.
