David G Ortiz

David Ortiz, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving behind a life remembered for dedication and kindness. He was a loving father to Giselle and David Jr., a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, and a cherished great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren.

David spent much of his life working as a skilled car mechanic, known for his ability to diagnose and repair just about anything on wheels. He retired from mechanic work over 30 years ago but remained just as hands-on and resourceful, always ready to offer advice or lend a helping hand.

In retirement, David enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his beloved dogs. These simple pleasures reflected his easygoing nature and the joy he found in the company of both people and animals.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to family, and the warmth he brought to every gathering. His life was one of hard work, quiet pride, and love for those closest to him. David’s memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew him.

A visitation for David will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A rosary service will occur Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 7:30pm, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A visitation will occur Friday, August 15, 2025 from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011. A funeral mass will occur Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011. A committal service will follow Friday, August 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
