David Monroe Slater, 58, of Pearland, TX went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 15, 2011. He was born October 7, 1952 in Pasadena, TX to Monroe and Thelma Slater. David is preceded in death by his father, Monroe Slater; step-mother Pearl Slater; brother, Donald Slater. David is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Katherine Slater; mother, Thelma Kent; 2 brothers, Dennis Slater and wife Robin, Kyle Slater; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Visitation will be Friday, September 16, 2011 at Brookside Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A celebration of life will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church. 6435 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX 77505. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church.
