

He was born in Texas City, Texas on January 18, 1949 to parents Willis Kenneth Swenson and Verna Mae (Lancaster) Swenson. David graduated from Texas City High School. He was married to the love of his life Judith “Judi” Lynn Weaver on January 23, 1969.
David served our country in the U.S. Air Force and he was honorably discharged. He made a career in heavy vehicle mechanics and worked for Lockheed Aircraft, Metro and Humble I.S.D. He was a member of T.A.P.S. David loved spending his time woodworking and he had a passion for classic cars.
David is preceded in in death by his son David “Davey” Paul Swenson Jr.; parents Willis Kenneth Swenson and Verna Mae Swenson and his brother Kenneth Swenson. He is survived by his wife Judith “Judi” Lynn Swenson of Humble, Texas; son Timothy Alexander Swenson of College Station, Texas; granddaughters Adreanna Rene Ward of Des Moines, Iowa and Jasmine Marie Swenson of Spotsylvania, Virginia; sisters Barbara Stetler of Webster, Texas and Robin Swenson Foster (Andy) of Channelview, Texas; brother-in-laws Bill Weaver and Jim Weaver; Pups Daisy and Duke.
A visitation will be held in David's honor on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. inside the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. The Celebration of Life service will commence at 12:00 p.m., after which he will be escorted to the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, where he will be laid to rest with honors. Following the committal ceremony, David's family would like to invite his friends and loved ones to a reception held in the Magnolia Room of American Heritage from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., to gather in fellowship and continue sharing stories of the many lives he touched.
