Demaree Jones

February 15, 1941January 28, 2019

Demaree Jones died peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home in Newnan, GA.

Demaree, a native of Houston, was a TEXAN through and through. If Demaree were writing his death, he would NOT say, "I've died and gone to heaven". He would say, "I've died and I'm going back to Texas." For him, the meaning meant the same.

Keeping his wishes, funeral services followed by a burial will be in Houston at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. CST, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX, 77039.

In lieu of flowers, his wife, Gena, is requesting that donations be made in memory of Demaree Jones to Pasadena Animal Advocates at Work (P.A.A.W), 10829 28TH Street, Santa Fe, TX 77510. The PayPal address for this 501C corporation is Gena and Demaree know personally of this animal charity and it is based in the suburb of Houston where they lived for many years.

Although it has been over 50 years since I last spoke to Demo we were next door neighbors with a vacant lot between in the 9800 block of Westfield Rd at the start of WWII. Of course, with me being an only child and he with three sisters and a brother
it left us three boys to spend many hours of our time together on that vacant lot. I would like to hear from any of his family.
