

Truly a woman of grace, Diana’s loving spirit, warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. An intelligent, elegant and devoted friend to so many, her unwavering faith in God’s will was a lifelong inspiration to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Diana was born in Tyler, Texas on the 21st of November 1957, to Charles and Mary Anderson Howes. She graduated from The University of Texas in 1979 with a degree in Journalism and later went on to earn her CFP while living in Dallas. Upon graduation, Diana began a successful career in banking, holding senior positions at US Trust, Encore Bank and for the last 9 years as a private banker at Northern Trust. Her honesty, integrity and reputation were well known and respected by her colleagues and clients alike.
With her irrepressible smile and wonderful sense of humor, Diana loved and embraced life. She enjoyed crocheting, golfing, traveling and collecting art with her husband, Steve, her college sweetheart whom she married on the 21st of July 1979 in Tyler, Texas. One of Diana’s greatest passions was giving back to the community. Always willing to volunteer and do what was needed, she served on boards for UT Health School of Nursing Partners, The Glassell School of Art, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, The Women’s Finance Exchange and 2 terms as President of Baylor Research Advocates for Student Scientists (BRASS).
Preceded in death by her parents, Diana is survived by her husband, Steve; her sister, Susan Heide and husband Darrel of California; her brother, Bobby Howes and his wife Susan of Tyler, Texas; Mother and Father in-law, Nancy and Gaylon Brown of Austin, Texas; sister in-laws, Gayla Greeson of Houston and Chari Koester of Austin, Texas and their husbands David and Paul; as well as five nieces and five nephews.
A celebration of Diana’s life will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon, on Saturday, the 7th of March, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors, 1010 Bering Drive, in Houston, where the Rev. Mary Gracely, is to officiate. Immediately following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in grand foyer.
