Born on May 19, 1954, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Diana was the beloved daughter of Charles and Dorothy Hardy. She built a meaningful career working in a travel agency, which reflected her love for exploration, and later dedicated 17 years as a secretary at Baylor College of Medicine. Yet, her proudest and most cherished roles were those of a devoted mother and loving grandmother.
Diana was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She found great joy in attending church, reading her Bible, and sharing God’s love with those around her. Her gentle spirit, kindness, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a natural gift for bringing comfort, laughter, and light into the lives of others.
She is survived by her three beloved children: Sonya Loving and her husband Beau Loving, Susan Fountain and her husband Rick Fountain, and her son Lance Purcell. She was preceded in death by her beloved son; Leo Patrick Purcell Jr. Diana took immense pride in her family and treasured every moment spent with them. Her love and devotion will continue to live on through them and the many memories they shared.
Diana had a deep appreciation for nature and a special love for animals. She found joy in feeding squirrels and birds, tending to her plants, and caring for her cherished Meyer lemon tree. Her love for her pets was evident in every detail, from hand-feeding her beloved dog, Bailee Bree, to caring for her German Shepherd, Monster—affectionately known as “Monsieur”—and her cat, Lucky. Those who knew Diana knew just how much her animals meant to her.
She was deeply connected to her community, actively involved in her church and neighborhood, where she built lasting and meaningful friendships. She especially enjoyed spending time with neighbors and visiting their chickens, which brought her great happiness.
Among her family’s most treasured memories are the simple moments spent together, including outings to favorite restaurants like Teotihuacan, where laughter, conversation, and love were always shared.
Above all, Diana was a compassionate, generous, and loving mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor. Her life was a testament to faith, kindness, and unwavering love for others. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew her.
Diana will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, neighbors, church community, and all whose lives were touched by her presence
