Dianne Janelle McPherson was born on August 25, 1964, to Sarah and Herman Lang in Houston, Texas. Affectionately known as Dede, she blessed the world with her beautiful spirit for 61 years. Dianne was a devoted daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, a mother to many, and a loyal and cherished friend.
Dianne attended Forest Brook High School. After earning her cosmetology license, she gave birth to her first child, T'Niesha. Tragically, T'Niesha passed away at the tender age of four months. During her grief, Dianne remained faithful to God and steadfast in her commitment to her family.
In her first novel, A Woman with an Issue of Blood: Touched but Not Healed, Dianne wrote that it was in God's plan to bring her to a place where she truly knew Him and His Word. Her life journey ultimately led her into ministry. In 1997, Dianne gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Kendall Monet McPherson, whose arrival sparked renewed joy and purpose in her life.
As an obedient child of God, Dianne boldly delivered her first sermon in 2003. She was ordained as a minister in 2007 and later founded Forward Obedient Christians United for Success, also known as FOCUS Ministries. Her passion for Christ and dedication to ministry created opportunities for her to spread the Gospel, build community, and uplift others. Dianne went on to author multiple books that reflected her life journey in ministry and motherhood. She also became the legal guardian of two precious daughters, Jada and Nicole Polk, whose presence expanded her heart and deepened her love for motherhood. Dianne cherished nurturing and guiding young girls as they grew into their purpose.
Dianne dedicated her professional career not only to ministry but also to serving vulnerable youth. Her passion for education led her to Alief Independent School District, where she served as a Behavioral Interventionist at Hicks Elementary School. During her tenure, she was actively involved in the Young Ladies Circle as an assistant sponsor and found numerous additional avenues to give back through education, fellowship, and community engagement.
To further strengthen her Christian ministry, Dianne pursued higher education in Christian studies. She was a graduate of Vineyard Place Biblical Seminary, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry in 2018, a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling in 2021, and a Doctor of Theology in 2023. Dianne was a faithful member of Cornerstone Community of Faith Church under the leadership of Pastor Wesley B. Austin in Houston, Texas. There, she served diligently as the lead of the Education Enrichment Ministry and was an active member of the Prayer Ministry, Praise and Worship Team, Community Outreach Food Bank Team, Business Administration Team, and Action Planning Ministry.
