Dionna Breaux Taylor was born on February 10, 1997, and it was on this day that Dionne and Marcus were blessed with an angel to share with the world.
Dionna was chosen at birth to be a special gift filled with happiness and laughter. She was baptized at an early age at Trinity Gardens Church of Christ. She played a huge part in the Trinity Gardens Debate Team, and she was a part of the Trinity Garden G.E.M.S.
She never met a stranger and found friendships in those who graced her presence. Dionna touched so many lives in unimaginable ways, such as lighting up any room she entered, using her voice to speak life into others, her infectious laugh, and with just her overall presence.
Dionna was a highly decorated overachiever. She maintained honor roll from Pre-K to 12th grade, had perfect attendance from Pre-K to Victory College, and made the Dean's List every semester at the University of Houston-Downtown. She was the lead dancer for ballet, tap, and jazz at HSDMT, the lead gymnastics squad 4 at All Star Gym, and scored perfect scores on the SAT and TAKS exams. She spoke several languages, was over academically qualified for the military, scored 99% on the Champions School of Real Estate Exam, and was a 3rd degree Black Belt, participating in tournaments and winning a multitude of trophies and awards.
Dionna loved the Bible, which piqued her interest in poetry and spoken word. Her stage name was "White Chocolate," and she would perform her spoken word at different venues and events. Because of her love of the bible and spoken word, she allowed God to use her and her angelic voice. Her voice was heard by so many that she was granted the opportunity to sing the National Anthem for the Houston Aeros. Dionna also loved the water and the peace it would bring her and was fascinated by the beauty of the ocean and seas.
Dionna was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Michelle Breaux, Carl Harris, and her paternal grandfather Richard Taylor Jr.
Though our family chain has been broken, precious memories of Dionna will forever be cherished by her mother and father Dionne and Marcus Taylor, grandmother Deborah Taylor, Great-grandmother Clamecie Sampson, Special aunt Barbara Boutte, and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial services for Dionna will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at New Deliverance Holiness Church, 9001 Mesa Dr., Houston, TX.
