

A lifelong Houston area resident, Dollie was born to Paul W. and Mildred Parry Taliaferro on Christmas day, 1922. A graduate of La Port High School, she enjoyed a fulfilling career at Humble Oil Company where she met and fell in love with George, her husband of over 50 years. They were inseparable until his death in 2001.
Dollie is survived by son Stephen, daughter in law Joyce, grandsons Jonathan and Michael, sister Betty Long, sister in law Betty Taliaferro, brother in law Stan Pyndus and wife Mary Jane and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kind hearted and vivacious, Dollie always had warm words and quick smiles for everyone she encountered. Her memory will be cherished by all whose lives she touched.
Dollie loved reading, gardening and working her beloved cross word puzzles. An avid traveler, she relished the many trips she shared with George and thoroughly enjoyed time spent on the Texas coast at the family bay house.
Dollie was a long time member of Terrace United Methodist Church, the Memorial Area ExxonMobil Retiree Club and the Spring Oaks Garden and Book Club.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the tremendous staff at the Forum at Memorial Woods and Compassus Hospice for their outstanding care and support.
In the end Dollie fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished the race.
Visitation will take place at 9:00 a.m., August 12, 2014, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
