Dolores Hernandez

October 1, 1951- July 2, 2025

Dolores Hernandez, best known by her friends and family as Taffy, passed away at her daughter’s home with her loving family beside her on July 2, 2025. She was born in Newgulf, Texas on October 1, 1951 to parents Ramon P. Tafolla and Yolanda Tafolla. She graduated from Boling High School in 1970 and attended Wharton County Community College where she obtained an Associate's Degree. She retired from Harris County in 2021 after 47 years of service.

She had many things in her lifetime that brought her joy but being a grandmother was at the top of her list. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and had a wonderful relationship with her siblings.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Lesley Emmons and husband Keith Emmons, granddaughters, Isabel and Gabrielle Emmons, siblings, Leticia Tafolla, Elsa Riehl, Ramon Tafolla Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Dolores will be held on Thursday, August 7th, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. by Deacon Lupe Trevino at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home located at 13001 Katy Fwy., Houston, Texas 77079. A funeral service will take place on Friday, August 8th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Vincent Tran officiating at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church located at 11507 Huffmeister Rd., Houston, Texas 77065 with committal to follow at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
