Dolores Pugh Meyer passed away on February 9, 2016 at the age of 91. Dolores, a native Houstonian, was born on March 19, 1924. She married the love of her life, Norman Meyer, on June 23, 1941, and enjoyed 74 years of wedded bliss before he passed away in February, 2012. Dolores and Norman enjoyed owning, restoring and showing antique cars. She served for many years as the President of the Women's Auxiliary of the Horseless Carriage Club. Together, they were involved in the original Fat Stock Show and Rodeo at the Coliseum, and , square dancing on horseback. Her passions were her children, quilting and sewing. Many of her quilt were made for donations to families with new infants. In 1990, when Norman retired, Dolores and Norman moved to Madisonville, Texas, where they had constructed their dream house on a small ranch which they owned and worked together. There, they took part in many organization and church events, including participating and winning the Barbeque cook-offs many times. Dolores taught crocheting and knitting in and around Madisonville. No matter where you saw Dolores and Norman Meyer, if there was music playing, they were first on the dance floor and the last to leave. They will dance together forever through eternity. Dolores is survived by her children, Norman Ray (Bo), Eugene Charles, Mickey Meyer-Sturgis, and Edna Meyer-Nelson. Her son, Delbert A. Meyer preceded his parents in death. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 5pm - 8pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 3pm in the Grand Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
