Dolores C. Soza, age 70, of Houston, Texas passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Loly was born December 7, 1950 in Nicaragua. She lived with her father since the age of 3 years old until her parents separated. Loly had the opportunity to meet her birth mother at the age of 15 and she lived with her for eight short months. Her mother died giving birth and Loly moved back with her father. She loved going to the local church and even wanted to join a Catholic ministry and become a nun. Loly wanted to leave the sainthood behind her father's back but he discovered her and she was forced to stay. At 16 years old her older brother brought her to live with him in the capital of Nicaragua, Managua where they lived with some of their aunts.
This is where Loly met her husband Francisco Soza. They fell in love and dated until they married March 1, 1969 by church when she turned 19 years old. During that time she studied sewing and she longed to become a nurse. Her loving Husband bought her their first home and looked after her to ensure she had everything she desired. In November 1969 her first daughter was born, Jasmine, and in October 1970, her second daughter Glenda was born in November 1978 her first son Marlon. In May 1983 their family was complete when their youngest daughter Mary Jo was born. She decided to devote herself to her family to raising her children and being a homemaker while her husband devoted his time to their Auto business.
In 1987, in search of a better future for their children, Loly and her husband left their life and family from Nicaragua and they migrated to the United States with all four of their children. They made Houston, Texas their new home and started their lives from scratch with nothing but each other and their drive for a better future. Over time, her husband opened a new auto mechanic shop in Houston which specializes in European cars and is run by two of their children.
Loly loved listening to music, gardening, shopping, her birds, and her loving cat Minina. What brought her the most joy was spending time with her family, husband, children and grandchildren.
Loly was an excellent spouse, mother, grandmother, friend, sister, etc. She was the matriarch of her family and was humble, kind, loving, giving, thoughtful, she loved helping others, she loved life and all holidays but most especially Christmas. Her sweet voice, smile, love, and her being will be dearly missed. She is now our angel in heaven.
