

Don was a kind and gentle man, quiet in manner. Beloved husband, dad, and pa-pa. He enjoyed riding and handling horses, fishing with friends and family, and tinkering around in his work shop. Nick enjoyed old westerns and Lonesome Dove was one of his favorites. It is hard to say if he liked Gus or Woodrow the best. He loved the cowboy life and believed that he had been born 100 years too late.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Wilson Nicholds; brother, Norman Nicholds; daughter, Angela Nicholds Thompson, and grandson, James Hinson.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elaine Nicholds; son, Wade Nicholds and wife Kelly of Baytown; daughter, Penny Malmay and husband Emmitt of Tomball; 4 grandchildren, Erica Brown and husband Tom, Casey Mitchell, Sydney Mitchell, and Kylie Nicholds; 3 great-grandchildren, Riley Chandler, Reagan Brown, and Blakely Mitchell; Mother, Earline Nicholds; sisters, Sharon Martin and husband Bruce, Martha Tutor and husband Walter, Marilyn Bessire and husband Terry. Nick is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel, 1015 Federal Road, Houston, Texas 77015 (713) 453-6373
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Glendale, Texas at 2:00 PM.
