

Mr. Donaciano M. "Chano" Carmona, age 86, passed away peacefully, June 24, 2013. He was born in General Trevino, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on June 7, 1927. He taught himself to play the accordion at a very early age and became a great musician. He moved to Houston in 1953 with his young family. Music and family were his passions. He was the lead singer and accordion player for "El Conjunto Santa Fe". He wrote, performed, and recorded many songs and played at countless weddings, parties and dances. He traveled to many places including Paris, France and he even visited Carmona, Spain. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Escareno Carmona, and his children who love him very much, Gloria E. Carmona, D. Jesse Carmona spouse Phuong Anh Carmona, Sally C. Gutierrez spouse Gerardo Gutierrez, Mary Patricia Carmona-Gomez spouse Herminio Gomez, Jr, and Joe O. Carmona spouse Minerva G. Carmona. His grandchildren, Alexander Lopez III, Sarah E. Castillo spouse James Castillo, Cassandra M. Gomez, Jessica A. Gutierrez, Vincent M. Gomez, Marcela A. Carmona, Victoria M. Gutierrez , John J. Carmona and great grand children, Eli M. Castillo and Leila E. Castillo. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Forest Park, Westheimer Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran Street, Houston, Texas 77009. Burial will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery after the church service.
