Don was born in Houston, Texas on December 8, 1946, 7 minutes before his twin brother Jerry. He was raised in the Heights, graduated from Reagan H.S. in 1965. After graduation Don went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force, afterward he returned to Houston where he took a job with G.E. Supply Co., after 17 years he joined the team at Turtle & Hughes Electrical Distribution Company until his retirement in 2013. In 1970 he met and married Ruth Zaludek Bartulla and they had 2 sons, Daniel of Kingwood, Texas and Douglas of Silverthorne, Colorado. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons Daniel and Douglas; brothers Jerry and Charles; grandchildren Stephen, Kimberlee and Zach.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in Don's name to Rose of Texas Hospice.
