Donald went home to be with Jesus on Friday, February 11, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan Georgi; along with their four children, Jamie and Casey Georgi, DJ and wife Nicole Georgi, Sunny and husband Trey Jager, and Misty Georgi Ring. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Shelby, Cheyenne, Dalton Georgi, Macaylie, Doran, and Easton Georgi, Joseph Jager and the twins he was anxiously awaiting. He is also survived by his brother Karl Georgi; his sisters Darla Halle and Barbara Contreras; and his many nieces and nephews who he loved as his own.
He was known by many as Coach Don. Even up to the very end he loved telling stories about "his kids". He had many life long friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 5 until 9 PM on Wednesday, February 16 at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway. Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Thursday, February 17. Internment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. A reception will follow at St. Mark Lutheran Church.
