Donald J. Nichols

Donald served his country in the United States Navy, joining in May of 1952 and completing naval training in August of 1952. With steady determination and a deep sense of duty, he built a life marked by commitment—both to service and to family.

In September of 1964, Donald earned his High School Equivalency, reflecting a perseverance that carried through the years in quiet, meaningful ways.

On January 28, 1955, Donald married Francis Naomi Elliott. Their marriage endured with devotion until her passing in 2019, a lasting partnership that remained at the center of his life.

Donald is survived by his two daughters, Dena A. Nichols and Neva Nichols Young (Curtis). He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Randi Becker, Curtis F. Young, Jr., Daniel Young, Joshua F. Young, Bonnie Jean N. Young, Rachell Morris, Amberlyn Whitmire (Chris), and Andreann Toler; sixteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on May 31, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on June 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A graveside service will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on June 1, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
