Donald Rex Stermer, 79, born January 13, 1933 in Quanah, Texas entered into eternal rest August 18, 2012. Donald served in the Air Force in Japan during the Korean War caring for our wounded. He grew up in the Heights and raised a family in Spring Branch. Donald worked for the state of Texas Comptrollers office for 18 years in Oil & Gas tax revenues and later a consultant. Don was a Christian and was generous to charities, family, friends, and his neighbors. Donald is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Blanche Stermer; parents: Leonard & Rosa Stermer; sister, Fredine. Survived by: son: Bill Stermer & wife Joan, Rick Stermer & wife Angela; grandchildren: Angela, Michael & wife Alex, Eric & wife Jennifer, Brian & wife Brenna, Jesica, Stephen, Kari & David. Visitation will be Weds., Aug. 22nd from 5-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm, Thurs., Aug. 23rd. Both services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Fwy., Hou., TX 77039 with interment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
